Common questions

- Name the body part with a possessive ending, then add ооруп жатат. Башым ооруп жатат — my head hurts, literally \'my head is hurting\'. Swap the body part and the sentence still works.
- How do you ask for help in an emergency in Kyrgyz?
- The guide lists the short phrases worth knowing by heart rather than looking up. Outside the cities they may land faster in Kyrgyz than in Russian, and in an emergency that gap matters.
- What do I say at a pharmacy in Kyrgyz?
- Describe the symptom, not the product. Pharmacies in Kyrgyzstan hand over a great deal across the counter, so saying what is wrong will get you further than naming a medicine you half remember.
